Every fall, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoma Library Association join with Freedom of Information Oklahoma and other partners to host the First Amendment Congress for Oklahoma high school students. The panels and discussions hosted that day give students a real world view of the First Amendment as it relates to current issues and topics in the news.
For information about previous events, view the 2017 First Amendment Congress Flyer.
In addition to the Congress, Oklahoma students are invited to participate in the annual Zach Taylor First Amendment Essay Contest, view last year’s flyer.
Between the Congress and essay contest, more than 500 students are reached each year.
