About ODL’s Records Management Division
The Records Management Division provides state agencies with cost-effective storage of non-current, infrequently used state records in hard copy and microfilm formats. Impermanent records are stored in the State Records Center and agencies are provided controlled access to them.
The Records Management Division ensures that state records are maintained in compliance with federal and state statutes and regulations. This division’s mission includes:
- appraising records to identify those that possess sufficient evidentiary or informational value to warrant permanent preservation
- accessioning and processing records transferred to the division
- providing reference service to state government and the public
