The Oklahoma Department of Libraries is offering grants of up to $5,000 to Museums, Tribal Libraries, and Tribal Cultural Centers.
These grant dollars are provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) via the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Applicants will explain how the use of requested grant funds will help their institutions respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and the impacts of the pandemic.
Depending on the number of applications received, scoring may be weighted according to the following factors in the institution’s county:
- Poverty Level
- Unemployment Rate
- SNAP Participation
- Percentage of Internet Access in Homes
Here's the Path to Applying for an ARPA Grant
Step One: Download This Document
This document is a replica of the online application you will use later. It includes information on eligible products and services, and includes space for planning purposes. Read the complete document before moving to Step Two.
Step Two: Start Planning
What are the greatest needs of your institution? What eligible items and services offered by the grant can help you meet those needs? Start a conversation with your staff, volunteers, and visitors to help determine the best use of your grant funds.
Step Three: Got Questions? Get Answers
Institutions must acknowledge that they have attended a Zoom webinar on the grant process, or have watched or will watch a recording of a webinar session. These webinars were conducted by ODL Staff for Oklahoma museums, tribal cultural centers, and tribal libraries. The live webinars have concluded and a recording is available below for viewing.
The federal government does not allow federal tax dollars to be used with certain companies, usually due to their business with particular international parties. Search Sam.Gov to see if a vendor or manufacturer is on the exclusion list.
The Oklahoma Museums Association is offering itself as a resource to help museums and tribal cultural centers identify vendors and resources. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 405.424.7757.
If you would like to be part of an Oklahoma email discussion list that will address questions about the ARPA Grant process, contact email@example.com.
