Britannica is making some security changes that could affect your library’s access to Britannica School and other Britannica products.

To ensure secure transmission of data between our users and our online resources, Britannica has moved its product to HTTPS. This has become the industry standard, and we feel that it is important to provide this level of security to our customers.
Beginning on March 8th, 2018, users who come to our current HTTP sites will be redirected to HTTPS sites on the following products:
- Britannica Academic
- Britannica School
- Britannica Library
- Image Quest
- Original Sources
For most users, this will be a seamless transition. You will be transferred immediately and will notice no change in your experience on these sites.
However, for customers who use proxy servers like EZ-Proxy, you will need to ensure two things:
- First, you will need your own URL to be HTTPS.
- Second, you will need to update Britannica URLs to use HTTPS instead of HTTP.
