Audiovisual materials are complex and not designed for long-term storage of information, making them particularly challenging for library, archive and museum professionals. Join us for a half-day workshop where we discuss the audiovisual materials most commonly found in collections and how to care for them. Please note that this is not a digitization class—instead, it will give you the information you need to preserve your A/V materials until you are able to get them digitized. Join us for an informative half-day workshop where we will explore how to care for these popular artifacts that are found in most museum and archive collections. Topics will include deterioration mechanisms of textiles, rolled and folded storage, exhibit and emergency response.
