Public Library Academy
About the Certification Program
The certification program has been developed by the Oklahoma Library Association and ODL to develop professional standards for Oklahoma's public libraries.
It is the vision of OLA and ODL that public libraries in Oklahoma be administered and staffed by trained personnel. Continuing education is necessary to assure that librarians keep abreast of developments in the information age. This, in turn, upgrades the library profession, enriches the individual librarians and promotes quality library services.
Find class resources and materials on the Public Library Academy website.
About the Certification Process and Renewal
The Oklahoma Certification Manual and Forms for Public Librarians explains how the certification process works, and details the levels of certification. The appendix section provides an overview of the courses offered through the Public Library Academy.
If you need to apply for CEU's for a program or workshop, you may either submit the OLA Workshop Planning Form or the Program Application Form to the certification specialist.
To fill out the PDF forms, please save the form to your computer and open with Adobe Reader or Acrobat. Filling out the PDF application in your browser window instead of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat may prohibit file save or print.
