The ideal candidate must possess effective management experience and skills and be knowledgeable about the administrative and programmatic operations of public libraries in a suburban setting. Youth Services is a vibrant and busy department providing quality children’s programming for all ages. Our staff spend their days developing story times, conducting experiments and STEM programming for school-aged children, passing on a love for reading to our youngest patrons, and dreaming up innovative new services the library can offer to children and their caregivers.

The candidate appreciates and demonstrates accountability, and utilizes data to inform decisions and measure success. They will foster a strong commitment to the educational role of libraries informed by reflection and a forward-thinking vision. The dean reports directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves as a member of the Academic Council, the President’s Cabinet, the Senior Leadership Team, and other university groups and committees related to administrative and planning activities. The appointment is a 12-month academic administrative position.
