Library Director
Grapevine Public Library, Grapevine TX

Job Description: The City of Grapevine is seeking a participatory leader who is dedicated to public service, quality customer service, results-oriented management, and continuous improvement to serve as its new Library Director. The Library Director provides administrative leadership through planning, directing, and coordinating all activities of the municipal library system. The Director functions within a broad range of generally acceptable and known guidelines applying discretionary judgment to a variety of situations as appropriate with limited direction from the City Manager, Council, and Library Advisory Board. The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, exercise diplomacy and political acumen, and be a proven and innovative director who works effectively in a well-established and creative library organization.

The selected candidate must hold a master’s degree in library and information science or a related field from an ALA Accredited college or university supplemented by seven (7) years of progressive supervisory experience, including two (2) years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must pass a national/federal background check and have a valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy. Experience in grant writing preferred.

Manager Library Events and External Relations
Texas Woman’s University, Denton TX

Job Description: This position performs complex professional work in a highly collaborative university environment providing event planning, marketing, development, and communication tasks for the TWU Libraries. Responsibilities include: coordinating and directing events hosted/sponsored by the TWU Libraries on and off campus; serving as liaison between the TWU Libraries and the Office of Marketing & Communication; coordinating and delivering marketing materials for the TWU Libraries in accordance with university communication initiatives, marketing plans, web style guidelines, and brand identity; coordinating TWU Libraries social media and web presence; assisting with donor relations and correspondence. Work is performed under general supervision of the Dean of Libraries and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and result obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the university policies and procedures.

Manager, Youth & Teen Services
Fayetteville Public Library, AR

Job Description: Direct activities within the Youth Services Department. Supervise Librarians, Assistant Librarians, Library Associates and Assistant Manager of Youth & Teen Services in support of these functions. Manage optimal workflow and staffing patterns. Train staff members on all aspects of library services, including reference, readers’ advisory, and youth programming to deliver high quality customer service. Manage the acquisitions and programming budgets. Communicate library policy to staff and customers. Provide guidance to staff on all customer service issues and manage customer relations. Work with the Director of Library Services to evaluate and improve Youth & Teen Services Department functions and, as a member of the management team, to evaluate and improve overall library functions.
