Oklahoma’s Territorial Library began receiving federal government publications in 1893. Today, ODL’s U.S. Government Information Division receives publications from all three branches of the government: executive, legislative, and judicial.
As a selective depository library we receive 96% of our new federal publications per year via Internet, but we also receive federal publications in paper, DVD, and microfiche formats. We specialize in knowing and working with federal government websites.
Anyone can use our materials in person, but only state government employees can check out materials directly. Other customers can borrow materials through the statewide interlibrary loan program. The loan period for most materials is 30 days.
Our electronic lab has terminals available to the public for free Internet access to federal agency sites.
We encourage Oklahomans to email ODL’s U.S. Government Information with questions. Our mission is to provide access to federal government information to the people of Oklahoma.
